Little Learners Bus Extends Community Program

Warren County Public Schools is excited to announce a continuation of the district’s Little Learners Bus.  This comes on the heels of the program’s successful summer rollout. The Little Learners Bus is designed to be a mobile classroom for the community's youngest children and is equipped with learning centers, reading materials, educational resources and a variety of teaching tools. In addition, WCPS educators work one-on-one with families to increase parent and care-giver confidence in their ability to provide appropriate developmental and educational experiences to their children at home. By doing so, WCPS Little Learners will provide parents and caregivers with resources, developmental screenings and strategies for successful transition into preschool and kindergarten

“In our community, there were many families with barriers that prevented them from sending their child to any kind of formal early childhood setting,” states Preschool Parent Facilitator, Paige Hargett.  “For that reason, the Little Learners Bus is a critical part of serving our families and future students by providing opportunities that may have not been accessible to them otherwise. Social and emotional readiness plays a major role in determining a child’s future success. By reaching these children at an early age, we are able to help give them a solid educational foundation.”

The Little Learners Bus will make weekly stops at Lost River Cave, Basil Griffin Park, Ephram White Park, Browning Community Center, Phil Moore Park and Ed Spear Park.
