More than 50 students from several elementary schools have been learning some important science lessons through hands-on activities at Rich Pond Elementary School's Camp Invention.
Camp Invention instills vital 21st Century skills such as problem-solving and teamwork through hands-on activities. Students have been making their own inventions, using recycled materials. Children use gears and gadgets from dissected machines and other upcycled materils to crerate prototypes of inventions that they believe will help improve the world. Emphasis is placed on fostering inventive-thinking and creative problem-solving skills through immersion that will serve children throughout their lives.
Rich Pond Curriculum Coordinator Stephanie Paynter has been in charge of the camp.
