Our 1st-grade team would like to welcome you and your child to the start of the new school year! It is our teams desire to facilitate learning to your child. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your child's teacher anytime by phone, email, Remind (text message), or drop us a dated note in your child’s daily communication folder. It is our belief that positive interaction between teacher and parent strengthens the feeling of support all children need for success in school. Our team's goal is to create an atmosphere of open communication regarding your child’s progress and behavior in both home and school. The communication folder that your child will receive will be used on a daily basis. It is important that is returned to school daily & the ‘Keep at Home’ papers are REVIEWED & REMOVED each day. The papers that are on the side marked ‘Keep at Home’ are samples of work that show you how your child has performed on assignments throughout the day/week & information that we have to share (newsletters, school information, upcoming functions, school news, etc.). This is our way of keeping you informed of how your child is performing & what areas may need extra assistance with at home. Please use this information as a guide to provide vital re-teach/practice tools at home. Parents are the key to making extra practice & homework a top priority at home, providing a quiet environment, a particular time and necessary supplies. Hopefully, this will help you to find out a little more of what is happening in class instead of hearing, “What did you do in school today?”, “Nothing”, or “How was school today?”, Good”. We are confident that this procedure will lead to improved communication between us. By working together we will be able to better meet the needs of your child.
We are always happy to talk to the families of my students. You are the most important people in my students’ lives! Let’s work together to make sure your child gets everything he/she needs to be successful!.
We are going to have a very busy and productive year filled with new exciting learning activities and school events. We look forward to working with your family and assisting your child with the foundation needed for a life long journey of learning.

If your message is concerning your child’s transportation for that day, PLEASE leave the message with the secretary when she answers the phone so the message will get to me prior to dismissal of school. On many occasions, messages from the phone or by email are not retrieved until a p.m. break or after school.
With warmest regards,
