I graduated from North Hardin High School in 1989 and graduated from Western Kentucky University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and middle grades mathematics in 1993. I finished my master's degree in 2000 and received my endorsement in gifted education in 2010. I began my teaching career at Vine Grove Elementary in 1993 and moved to teach at Richardsville Elementary in 1994-1996. After getting married, we moved to western Kentucky for my husband's job and I taught at James Madison Middle School in 1996-1998. We moved again to Franklin, Kentucky and I taught 4th grade at Simpson Elementary in 1998-1999. The following year I began teaching at Franklin Simpson Middle School and taught 8th grade Algebra I and pre-algebra for five years. My family moved back to Bowling Green in 2004 and I began teaching 5th grade at Cumberland Trace Elementary. In 2009, I took on the curriculum coordinator/gifted and talented teacher position at CTE. This fall I will begin my 21st year of teaching. I am so fortunate to be a part of the wonderful Cumberland Trace family.
My husband is also in education and is an elementary principal in the Bowling Green City Schools. We have two wonderful daughters, Madeline and Katelyn.
