I am privileged to be a kindergarten teacher in the Warren
County school system. Each and every day is an adventure in
I am entering my 30th year of teaching this fall. I have enjoyed
being recognized within the profession of teaching. (2002-present National
Board Certified Teacher, Early Childhood Generalist, 2003 KY
Teacher of the Year, 2006 USA Today All Teacher Team, 2007 KY
Teacher Hall of Fame, 2009 National Teacher Hall of Fame, 2011 KY
Education Association Friend in Education Award, 2012 Global Fellow). All of these
recognitions have been special and appreciated. However, my greatest
accomplishment is when my students are successful. Their success is
the highlight of my career.
I am a wife of 40 years to Mike McCrary and mother to two amazing
children who are blazing a trail in the world today. I am "Mimi" to
five adorable grandchildren and I am loving every moment of that role in life. If you
are around me for long you will hear a great deal about these amazing little
boys and girl.
Mrs. King is my assistant. She is WONDERFUL.
She and Mr. King have two beautifu and brilliant college daughters. You will hear the students in our classroom speak
fondly of Mrs. King. She has her masters is social sciences and
gives 110% each and every day to make certain the classroom runs smoothly. The
children and I appreciate her beyond measure.
Mission For The Class
The mission of our classroom is "Everyone can and will learn with joy."
I have a strong conviction that a child's first experience with school
can certainly be a "make or break" experience. If that kindergarten year is
a positive one that leads to a thirst for more learning, then I have helped a
child begin an educational adventure that can be a lifetime of a love of learning.
My quest for a positive climate that supports discovery and risk-taking leads to
a classroom of tiny teachers, scientists, inventors, architects and more. We
are a family of learners who celebrate successes on a daily basis.
We are determined to learn, laugh and lead!
