Garden Club

The Junior Garden Club is very fortunate to have partnership with the Two Creeks Garden Club right her in Alvaton!  6th grade students participate in monthly activities that stimulate knowledge and love of gardening; aid in the protection of native plants, birds and the general environment; and encourage civic plantings and general community beautification.

On March 10th, members of the Garden Club heard a presentation about bluebirds from Philip Tamplin (included with club members) of the Kentucky Bluebird Society.  The Two Creeks Garden Club and the Junior Garden Club are reestablishing the Bluebird Trail at Alvaton.  The original trail was established in 1996 at Alvaton, and the new trail will comprise 20 new bluebird boxes placed aroud the school property.  Alvaton students are helping complete construction of some of the boxes and will be able to learn about bluebirds and nature from the Bluebird Trail.
