    In an effort to be consistent with Warren County government, Warren County Public Schools central office and all individual school offices will close its doors to the public, Monday, March 23, until further notice. However, offices will remain open for business via online and phone communication.  Contact information will be posted on the outside of all WCPS schools/buildings during this time. Citizens and families will still be able to call each individual school office and/or our district office, 270-781-5150, during normal business hours for direction and assistance.  Food distribution will continue to operate as scheduled. Moving forward, we will continue to follow all guidance from our local health officials and Governor Andy Beshear. Thank you for your understanding.

WKU Honors Band


March 6th, 2019

General Information

About:  Participation in this ensemble is recommended by the director based on student’s musicianship, participation in band activities, and interest in participating in the event.  Students are then selected by WKU and will be assigned parts.  Students will rehearse for a day and then perform a concert that Saturday.


Date:  Friday, March 6, 2019 - approx. 8:30 am – 6:00 pm
All times are tentative and will be updated as soon as they are finalized.

Dr. Gary Schallert and Dr. Jeff Bright, WKU band directors and the WKU Woodwind, Brass, & Percussion faculty

Who:  Outstanding 7th & 8th grade woodwind, brass, and percussion students and their directors

The clinic begins with band seating at approximately 8:30 am on Friday, March 4, 2015.  Rehearsals begin at 9:00 am.  The clinic will conclude with a free public concert at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, March 6th, in Van Meter Hall.  A detailed schedule will be given to students who are accepted to the honors band.

Schools from all over Kentucky and the surrounding states will submit students for consideration for this honors band.  A few from each school will be accepted.  Results will be made to the directors near the end of January/beginning of February.

All students must furnish their own instrument; percussionists must furnish their own sticks and mallets.  The WKU Honors Band t-shirt will be worn as the uniform for the concluding concert.
