Executive Producer (that’s me) Has ultimate say in hiring of all positions and works directly with the producer to oversee the production of the student news. 

Assistant Producer 
This person works with the Executive Producer is to develop all the content necessary for the student news.  Helps keep up with school news and students at SWMS that are doing great and interesting things inside of and outside of the school.  

News Directors
The news director controls what the reporters report on in the news.
He/she has to sort out the most important news which will be of interest to the audience and assign it to the reporter’s . The work of monitoring all school news is under the responsibilities of the news director.


Features Director
The Features director works to find interesting stories, people, and or events that occur in the school or community to report on.  Responsible for finding creative ways to present these stories and edit stories to give to the Video Editor.


Sports Directors
He or She understands that our school audience needs updates on sports. The work of the sports director is to give an update of the live happenings in the sport. It is also the duty of the sports director to oversee the live commendation of the sport if the radio has this service.  The sports director is also responsible for making sure that coverage for sporting events is arranged.


Studio Engineers
 The jobs are technical in nature and involve handling of equipment in production. Studio lighting, audio consoles and studio cameras, tripods and any other equipment that moves around inside or outside of the studio is the responsibility of the studio engineer.  No area can take equipment out of the studio without the direct permission of the Studio Engineer, Executive Director.


Video Editor
An editor receives and edits all raw footage used during a news cast. They are typically located on-site, but can also be in the field with the Reporter editing from the station Van. Depending on a market size, a Field Reporter may also be responsible for editing their own packages to be sent back to the station.


News Anchor
The moment you mention working on television broadcasting station, a News Anchor is the first job that comes into mind. It can be said you are the face of the station when it comes to the informative role of a News Anchor. The news anchor is the person who appears on-screen during the broadcast. This is a person who has gone through all the stages of journalism and has evolved from being a simple rip and read personality to developing relevant commentary, along with perfecting interview skills.

Graphic artist
Are you a computer savvy person who likes, design and production? Designs introductions to Newscast, Sports Sections, Special Sections and any other area of the broadcast.  A graphic artist designs all the logos, maps,  images, and most of the graphics used during a show.


TV News Reporter
Part of their work involves editing, and reporting. They generate ideas for stories.
TV News Reporter Job Duties and Responsibilities
Generate stories and features ideas.
• Write scripts for headlines and bulletins and prepare and present news reports
• Approach stories and features by exercising editorial judgment
• Use DV cameras and other recording equipment to record news • Present news items on air – recorded •  Arrange interviews with individuals in a bid to gather information for news items • Review copy and correct content errors such as grammatical and punctuation mistakes • Conduct live and taped interviews and assist in editing of broadcast videos.


Special Area Directors
He or She controls the areas of the newscast that are weekly, Spartan Trivia, Students of the Week, and coming up with new and fresh ideas for this area of the show. They are responsible for creating these areas and controlling the filming and editing of each of these segments and getting them to the video editor.
