- FRYSC
The Kentucky Family Resource and Youth Services Centers were established as a component of the historic Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA) of 1990. The mission of these school-based centers is to help academically at-risk students succeed in school by helping to minimize or eliminate noncognitive barriers to learning. Schools where at least 20 percent of the student population is eligible for free or reduced school meals may compete for FRYSC funding. Approximately, 51 percent of students enrolled in Kentucky’s public schools are eligible for free school meals. - Community Education
Community Education provides before and after-school programs for about 1,000 children and youth on school days during the academic year and for as many as 300-plus students at all-day programs offered during school breaks. They also offer enrichment classes for adults that cover a variety of subjects including fine arts (art, dance and music), crafts, cooking, computer, finance, fitness, foreign language, history, recreation, sewing, sports, occasional online classes and more. - HANDS Program
The Health Access Nurturing Development Services (HANDS) program is a voluntary home visitation program for new and expectant parents. Families begin by meeting with a HANDS Parent Visitor who will discuss any questions or concerns about pregnancy or a baby's first years. Based on the discussion, all families will receive information and learn about resources available in the community for new parents. Some families will receive further support through home visitation. - Family WatchDog
Family Watchdog is a free service to help locate registered sex offenders in your area. We encourage you to use our site to help educate your family on possible dangers in areas they visit. Also, please sign up for our free notifications to keep update with offenders that move in/out of your area. - WIC Program
WIC is a federally-funded health and nutrition program for women, infants, and children. WIC helps families by providing checks for buying healthy supplemental foods from WIC-authorized vendors, nutrition education, and help finding healthcare and other community services. Participants must meet income guidelines and be pregnant women, new mothers, infants or children under age five. - Hope House Ministries
