Welcome to Natcher Elementary!
My name is Matt Thornhill and I am so excited to be part of the family at Natcher Elementary. It is an honor to be entrusted with your children. Our mission is to provide a safe, caring environment for life-long learners to succeed.
I would like to share a little about myself. I am originally from a small town in Ravenswood, WV. I went to a two year Christian college in Florida. I came to WKU in 1996 where I started dating my wife, Renee. We were married on August 8, 1998. We have two beautiful children. Our oldest is Evelina and our youngest is Analise. Analise attends Drakes Creek Middle School and Evelina attends Greenwood High School. I know they will have the best education! We attend The Church at Bowling Green and feel very lucky to have a wonderful church family.
I am honored and excited to have the opportunity to be the Principal at Natcher Elementary. I appreciate your support as we continue to meet the needs of our students and prepare them to be college and career ready! I know that the children at Natcher are blessed to have loving, caring, and supportive families.

My goal is to build upon the Leader In Me initiative and help each child see the leader within themselves. I also plan to promote student engagement strategies to enhance the effective instructional practices that are utilized daily in our classrooms. Together our teachers and children will synergize as we move students through higher order thinking skills as they become more engaged in their own learning.
We will celebrate our student’s success and diversity! Through our efforts to enhance the great atmosphere at Natcher, the students will have the opportunity to display their leadership potential in many ways. We recognize the importance of allowing every child to discover and share their individual strengths with their classmates and the community.
I have an open door policy and encourage you to come to me with honest discussions that will make Natcher a better place for our students. My goal is to always have our students as the first priority. I value your input and will always seek first to understand before seeking to be understood.
I am excited about the future and look forward to our continued work together as we prepare the children to be college and career ready!
