Distance Learning Expectations

Google Meet Expectations

  • MUTING 

    • All microphones should be muted.  Please mute yourself if you are not already muted.

  • CAMERA READY  

    • You need to have your camera on for the meeting.  Please ensure you are seated upright and dressed appropriately for class.  This is class time and you should look the part.  

  • QUESTIONS & CONTRIBUTIONS 

    • When you have a question, type it in the chat and wait for your teacher to call on you.  If you would like to contribute, but it is not your turn to talk, use the chat feature in the right-hand corner. Keep your contributions on topic. Social conversations should take place outside Google Classroom.

  • YOUR TURN 

    • Wait for the teacher to call on you to unmute yourself.  Only ONE student should contribute/talk at a time.

  • STAY ATTENTIVE  

    • Pay attention to your teacher or other students who are speaking

DO:

  • Follow classroom rules 

 
  • Wear appropriate clothing

 
  • Pay attention

 
  • Sit where the laptop/ipad/tablet remains steady & the camera is directed at your face.

 
  • Look at the camera when talking


 

DON’T:

  • Share your screen unless the teacher has requested you to do so

 
  • Talk when someone else is talking

 
  • Chat in the background during the lesson/presentation

 
  • Use emojis unless asked by the teacher

 

Student Accountability

 

  • Students must check in daily on a Google Form for each class. 

  • For students who are not engaged, teachers will follow up with the student/guardian if they have not heard from the student in 48 hours. If no response is received within 48 hours of this attempted communication, the teacher will contact an administrator/guidance with the concern. 

Current make-up work policy will be followed.  Work missing due to an absence will be marked in IC with a M.
