The Oakland Family Resource Center exists to help remove a student's non-academic barriers to education by assisting families with resources and information. In collaboration with the mission of Oakland Elementary, The Family Resource Center's focus is to assist families so that they can provide a safe, caring environment that enables their own children to reach their highest level of potential. Please contact the center at any time. If you need immediate assistance and no one is available, contact 270-843-HELP.
The goal of the Family Resource Center is to meet the needs of all students and their familes as a means to enhance student academic success. Family Resource Centers serve children under school age and in elementary schools. The Center coordinates five action components:
- preschool child care;
- after-school child care;
- families in training;
- familiy literacy services; and
- health services and referrals.
