Greenwood NJROTC Cadet Flesher Recognized

Greenwood High School JROTC Cadet Bryce Logan Flesher was recognized at the January 17, 2019 meeting of the Warren County Board of Education.  The Legion of Valor has awarded Cadet Bryce Logan Flesher the Legion of Valor Bronze Cross for exceptional achievement in earning the Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Outstanding Junior of the Year Award for the 2017 and 2018 academic year. Of the over 20,000 NJROTC cadets nationwide eligible for this award, Bryce Flesher was one of twenty-two students selected for this prestigious honor.  

Participating as the NJROTC Cadet Battalion Executive Officer, rifle and marathon team captain and athletic team member, Cadet Flesher demonstrated exceptional leadership, discipline, organization, skill, athleticism and character.  As the executive officer, he initiated and ran weekly cadet staff meetings immeasurably increasing unit communication and productivity. Leading by example, his uniform and personal presentation was consistently impeccable; academic performance suburb in achieving a 4.0 junior year grade point average; and physical fitness unsurpassed, scoring an outstanding on the NJROTC physical fitness test, leading the athletic team to a 10th place finish against 164 teams in a national competition, and placing in multiple varsity swimming team regional and state competitions.  Cadet Flesher additionally led the marksmanship team to two first place victories in tri-county JROTC wide competitions where he was also the overall top shooter.  He was the driving force in raising over $7000.00 to support the marathon team’s field trip to Washington D.C. to run the Marine Corps Marathon and strove to ensure the success, safety and professional development of his fellow students at Greenwood High School in his daily activities. 

By his noteworthy accomplishments, exceptional moral character and devotion to duty, Cadet Bryce Logan Flesher reflected credit upon himself, his family, his cadet battalion, and Greenwood High School.  Cadet Flesher upheld the highest traditions of the Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Program.
