Kenan Mujkanovic, a student at South Warren High School, has been recognized for his work to help families struggling with poverty. The teenager has created a non-profit called Young Visionaries Foundation and is using it to help those in need.
Mujkanovic explains that his family came to the United States from Bosnia and went through a period in which they struggled financially. He created the non-profit to help others who find themselves in similar situations.
Mujkanovic has been recognized by WBKO Television with the Hometown Hero Award, and he was profiled in a Bowling Green Daily News article.
An outstanding student at South Warren, Mujkanovic has been selected for the prestigious STEP (Students Turning Education into Potential) program sponsored by the Leadership Bowling Green Alumni Association.
