My name is Brian Griffing. This is my 10th year teaching here at Warren East High School.  I have been teaching Math since I learnered it from my mother at a very young age.  I am 33 years old from here in Bowling Green, Kentucky, born and raised.  I graduated high school from Bowling Green High School in 1998, then went on to college to major in Chemistry and Mathmatics along with a Business Management degree at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee and graduated from there in 2003.  After returning home to BG, I recieved my masters from Western Kentucky Univerisity in 2008.  I am now proud to be a Raider.  Along with teaching, I am now in my 8th year as the assistant baseball coach at WEHS.

My Personal Philosophy Statement:

As an educator, my goal is to make a difference in the life of a student.  My family has a strong vocational background of teaching.  Thus, I have a strong educational roots.  I have a responsibility to motivate students to learn.  I must develop a wide array of teaching strategies, to account for diversity, that enables students to be effective learneres and establish necessary skilld and tools to become a productive citizen.  I must encourage my students to always try to do their best work.

Students are the future.  Children learn best when they feel they are in a safe and comfortable environment.  It is my responsibility to provide such a place which is conductive for learning.  Every student has special talents.  I must recognize these talents and focus on the developing and strengthening of such talents.  Students create their own knowledge.  An educator just channels that creation into a productive direction.  When a student is actively engaged, learning will take place.  It is my responsibility to keep students engaged and on task.  It is also my responsibility to provide the necessary tools and skills to enable my students to become productive members of society.

I have been taught and do believe that a service to others is a lifetime goal.  My family's tradition is to render this service to our community through faith and career.  My goal is to serve a community in which I can fully participate to make a difference. I can do this by helping to educate the students of the community.  I hope to instill to my students that honesty, integrity, good ethical behavior, knowledge, and dedication are the important keys to a successful life.  Thus, my goal is to make a difference in the lives of our future, our students here at Warren East High School.  As a result of my influence, the students in my class will become the future leaders of tomorrow!!
