Hello

My name is Lydia Shanks-Hood. This is my third year at WCHS and my second year as an Exceptional Education Teacher. I am blessed to be part of a fantastic team and proud to be a DRAGON. I was born in Bowling Green but grew up in Nuremberg, Germany, and Elizabethtown, Kentucky. I graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2011 with a B.S. in Secondary Education focusing on English and Science and my M.A.T. in 2022 from The University of the Cumberlands. I am currently working towards my Doctorate in Educational Leadership at U.C.

I am married to a fantastic man and have two grown boys with boys of their own that live in the area. I coach the Shot and Disc boys and girls in my free time as the Assistant Coach at WCHS. Please feel free to reach out to me for any questions or assistance. Let's Go, Dragons!!
