Welcome to February, Dragons!
February is upon us and we are looking forward to great things this month. As a school, we will be celebrating Black History Month through various activities that include days to celebrate our culture, daily significant events, and culminating with a Black History Concert from the WCHS Choir.
We will open our doors and invite you in on Tuesday, February 7th from 4pm-5:30pm for our Open House. The 3rd Quarter midterm ends on Friday, February 3rd, so Open House will provide you an opportunity to speak with your student's teachers to discuss progress, growth, and partnerships.
It is important to continue speaking to your student about the expectations that go along with being a successful student - Grades, Attendance, and Behavior. Our students here at WCHS are second-to-none and we need the school-community relationship to take us to the next level.
Please be aware of the following important dates for February:
- 2/3 - Midterm ends

When a student is caught demonstrating one of those characteristics, a staff member can give the student a SWAG Tag. On Fridays, students can turn them in to win prizes! Be sure to talk to your student about this and join in on the fun!
SWAG represents our School-Wide Expectations and stands for the following:
Showing Respect
Willingness to Lead
Actively Engaged
Generating School Spirit
As we start to see the temperature and seasons change, please review WCPS's INCLEMENT WEATHER PLAN.
Here is WCHS's NTI Schedule.
Please remember to return a Healthy Kids Clinic registration form to the school for your student(s). You should complete one form per child. We would like to point out that even if you do give permission on the registration form for your child to be seen by the nurse practitioner, you will be contacted and informed of the visit prior to your child seeing the nurse practitioner. Also, if you choose for your student(s) not to receive services through this program, the school nurse will no longer be able to do an illness assessment on your child(ren), such as temperature checks. For those choosing not to receive services, the school nurse will be able to administer daily medications (with parent/guardian permission), give the student a bandaid, or give the student an ice pack; no other services can be provided. You can click here to access the registration form (you will need to print the form, complete it and return it to school).
