Hello, and welcome to our kindergarten website! My name is Elizabeth Calvert. As your child's kindergarten teacher, you and I will be spending more time with your child than any other adult. Because of this, I'd like to take this opportunity to tell you a few things about myself-both personally and professionally.
I was born and raised in a small town in eastern Kentucky called Pikeville. After high school, I moved to Lexington to go to college. I received my B.A. degree in Elementary Education from Transylvania University. After completing my education, I taught first/second grade in Lawrenceburg, KY. Then, I moved back to Pikeville for a year and taught first grade. During this time, I married my husband, Travis Calvert. After spending a year in Pikeville, my husband and I relocated to Bowling Green. This is my fifteenth year teaching in Warren County (10 years at Natcher and 5 years at Jody Richards). I received my Masters in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Gifted Education from Georgetown College. I also have my Rank I in School Administration from Western Kentucky University. I am very excited to be at such a wonderful school with brilliant students and supportive parents. As well as being your child's teacher, I am also a mother to two precious girls named Caroline (12) and Catherine (9).
