Hello! My name is Dora James, or Miss Dora, and I am a preschool teacher at Richardsville Elementary School. I have been teaching the littlest Bobcats at RES since 2021 and have been working in early childhood education since 2017. I am an alumnus of Western Kentucky University, where I am currently working on a Masters of Arts in Teaching - Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education degree. If everything goes as planned I will finish my masters degree by May of 2023. I’m from Hartford, Kentucky and currently live in Bowling Green with my dog Miss Etta James. I enjoy music, plants, spending time with my friends and family, and learning. In my classroom we are a school family and a safe learning environment. We focus on Kindergarten-readiness skills, self-help skills, self-regulation, mindfulness, and social-emotional skills. I consider myself very lucky to be able to work in the field I am most passionate about. There are so many amazing things about this age group; did you know that 85% of our brain develops by age five? Preschoolers are truly remarkable! Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns; together we are a team in your child’s growth.
