2019-2020 Class Schedule

Spring 2020:

English III, Blocks 2, 3 and 4

2020 NTI Days:

Non-traditional instruction days for my classes, English III, in the Spring of 2020, are accessible through our Google Classroom class page. Students may contact me via either Google Classroom Direct Message or email. I am more than happy to have phone conversations per request. I will also call families/students if no work has been submitted.

I have my computer accessible for quick responses during school hours (7:30am-2:30pm on M-F). The weekly assignments are posted every Monday + Tuesday morning on Google Classroom and are due by Fridays at midnight. Please let me know if you or your child has conflicts, and I will work with them on a one on one basis.

Here are the current assignments, separated by week:

March 16th-20th

  • Vocab week 9 (review)

  • Comma rule 17h and 17i (review)

  • Objective Complements, IO/DO (review with handout for practice)

  • Diagramming Sentences (Due on GClass)

  • IXL (Due on Google Classroom)

  • Mini lesson who’s/whose (review)

  • Read about Arthur Miller and Why I wrote The Crucible p 1212-1213

  • Read and annotate Act I. p1216-1235. Annotations must be your own and able to submit by photo or google doc. Ten annotations plus one summary per act = 11 total. (Due on GClass)


 

March 23rd- 27th

  • Vocab week 10 (review)

  • Review all comma rules 

  • mini lesson affect/effect (review)

  • p 203-207 in textbook, Emerson “On Nature”- paraphrase each paragraph— assignment will be on GClassroom

  • Read The Crucible Act II and annotate (p1236-1248) Annotations must be your own and able to submit by photo or google doc. Ten annotations plus one summary per act = 11 total. (Due on GClass)

 

March 30th- April 3rd

  • Review vocab weeks 1 and 2

  • Mini lesson Fewer/Less (review)

  • IXL predicate adj/predicate nom- will post on GClass

  • Predicate Adjective/Predicate Nominatives (worksheet practice and review)

  • Read and annotate The Crucible Act III p1249-1263 Annotations must be your own and able to submit by photo or google doc. Ten annotations plus one summary per act = 11 total. (Due on GClass)

 

Spring Break April 6th- 10th

April 13th- April 17th

  • Review vocab weeks 3 & 4

  • Mini lesson Lose/Loose review

  • Read and annotate Act IV of The Crucible— pages 1264- 1273. Ten annotations plus one summary per act = 11 total. 

  • Answer questions “Response and Analysis” to The Crucible on page 1274, numbers 1 through 11. Must be in full sentences and answer all parts of each question.

April 20th-24th

  • Review vocab weeks 5 & 6

  • Mini Lesson well vs good

  • Complete and submit the two short answer questions that include a minimum of two quotes with citations per question. *On Google Classroom*

  • Submit outline (instructions given on GClass) for Final Paper on The Crucible *on Google Classroom*

 

April 27th- May 1st

  • Review vocab weeks 7 & 8

  • Mini lesson Active vs Passive Voice

  • Ixl assignment- submit *on Google Classroom*

  • Complete and submit a John Proctor eulogy/elegy writing assignment *on Google Classroom.*
