NTI Procedure and Letter:

Hello and Good Day

First I would like to breakdown this email, it includes the following:

- Plan for instruction, how you and your student can get a hold of me, expectations

- Links to various resources the district has during this time

- Random links I have for various activities for you, your student, and your family

Second, thank you for allowing me to educate your child and the flexibility and support in the next few weeks to make this the best learning opportunity we can.

Distance Education:

Every class will be utilizing Google Classroom for assignments. All students indicated even if it was only phone access, they would be able to get on GC and see the assignments and resources. The assignments are set up in a way that students can type and complete on their phone ( Google Docs, Slides, etc can be downloaded as an app for free) OR they can complete the on paper and turn in as a picture on Google Classroom instead of a traditional document. Assignments are a mix of worksheets, projects, and video blogs. Students will also do 1 quiz at the end of the 13 day program. They do not have 13 individual, rather a lot of projects are assigned to multiple NTI days.

I told students everything is officially due April 3rd. In order to facilitate students working I have assigned due dates on GC to encourage students to keep up the work ethic. In infinite campus, students WILL RECEIVE A ZERO IF WORK ISN'T COMPLETED BY DUE DATES. As long as the work is turned in by April 3rd, they will have the zero changed to a FULL CREDIT GRADE. It is a motivator.

Communication, Help, and Contact:

We (Warren County Employees) are to be on the clock during regular school hours. I don't mind offering a student help outside this window by any means if I am available. I have told students to email me first, in case I am helping someone else or away from my computer (notifications come straight to my phone). I plan on helping students as needed and will post videos or Q+A for any common questions students have. I will be sending daily Remind messages to students and will send messages via google classroom. If a student needs help and a video does not help or they need quicker help, I have no problem with them calling, I am setting up a Google Voice cell number they can call and leave messages for me I will have available tomorrow.

District Resources and Links:

Below are links to statements from the district as well as links for getting services, where food will be served to students if needed, etc.

Random Things to Keep You or Your student Busy:

Here are some random tours or opportunities to keep you and your family busy.

30 Tours Including Zoos, museums, etc -

Google Cultural Institutes - Tours of Famous Museums and Nat'l parks from all over the world

In closing, please let me know if you have any concerns or questions about your student or anything going on. If I can be help to your family during this difficult time I will do my best so please let me know.

In the mean time stay safe and stay healthy,

Mr. Loren Gross

Personal Information:
Hello! I am thrilled to be your Agricultural Education teacher! Agriculture is true passion of mine and sharing it with you is a true joy for me everyday. This is my fifth year teaching , my fourth year though here at South Warren High School. I currently live in Bowling Green. My family is from Germany, and we moved over here when I was in elementary school. After we came to the States we lived in Elizabethtown Ky and had a horse farm. When I got the the high school level I myself took agricultural classes, joined FFA, and had an SAE based around equine production and training. For college I went to WKU and received a degree in Agricultural Education. While in college I was involved in many different agricultural organizations/clubs and took internships with the Kentucky Department of Ag, University of Kentucky Extension Services, Ky Fair Board, and was a teaching assistant. After completing student teaching at South Warren, I moved to Georgetown KY where I taught at Scott County for a year, and moved back to Bowling Green when a position opened back up at SWHS.
I live in the Richpond area with my wife Kelsey, who I married in June of 2018. She is a second grade teacher at Richpond Elementary School. We have a "mini-german shepherd" mutt named Mila.
I am one of the 3 Agricultural Educators here at SWHS and am one of the FFA sponsors.
