Attention Parents: During these NTI days, we want you to be able to track your child's progress and know how to communicate with the teachers. In addition to infinite campus, I want you to be able to follow on google classroom. There you will find the assignments and threads where students discuss assignments, discussion questions, and concerns they may have. At this point, I'm not concerned about the students turning in "hard copies" of assignments that were passed out to them the last time we had class. However, if we are out of the building later than April 20th, I may require the students to turn in assignments in the front office (at the student's convenience) or have them take pictures of finished work and send online. If we are out later than April 20, I will try my best to make all assignments online--no hard copies. However, if you need hard copies, those will be made available.
I will share the google classroom code on google classroom today--3/25/2020; ask your child/student to share it with you. If you have any concerns, please don't hesitate to contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Greetings! Welcome to South Warren High School!
I attended Rockfield Elementary and graduated from Warren Central High School in 1987. I graduated from WKU in December of 1993 with a Bachelor's in Secondary Education/English. I am married and have three kids. My wife is Stacey--we've now been married twenty-five years--and my children are Kacey, Spencer, and Sydney. Kacey is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and a 2013 graduate of South Warren High School. Spencer is a junior at WKU and a 2017 graduate of SWHS, and Sydney is a freshman at UK. I really enjoy spending time with my family--vacationing, playing tennis and ping pong, going to worship, watching favorite sitcoms and movies, etc. My favorite vacation was going to Arizona a few summers ago to visit my brother and his family. We visited the Grand Canyon while we were there!
I love basketball--big UK fan--and tennis. The Office, Seinfeld, and Cheers are my favorite sitcoms, and I enjoy reading. My favorite books include For Whom the Bell Tolls, The Kite Runner, Brave New World, and The Picture of Dorian Gray.
This is my twenty-sixth year teaching. I taught for nineteen years at Warren Central High School where I eventually taught all levels from freshmen to senior AP Literature and Composition. I also taught for one year at Logan County High School. I taught seventh grade for one year at SWMS, and this is my fifth year teaching at SWHS. I have two Master's degrees--one in Secondary Education and another in Counseling. I am looking forward to teaching English IV and Journalism!
