I am originally from Auburn, KY in nearby Logan County. I attended Auburn Elementary/Middle School and Logan County High School, where I graduated in 1996. In the fall of 1996, I began attending Western Kentucky University, where (as you will see below), I have earned several degrees.
Education:
graduated from WKU with a Bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Education in 2000.
graduated from WKU with a Master's degree in Middle Grades Education in 2004.
earned National Board Certification in Early Adolescence English/Language Arts in 2008.
graduated from WKU with a Master's degree in School Counseling in 2011.
Teaching Experience:
I began my teaching career at Owensboro Middle School in Owensboro, KY. During my ten years there (from 2000 until 2010), I taught seventh and eighth grade language arts and one year of seventh grade science.
While I enjoyed my time in Owensboro, I very much missed my family and decided to return to the Bowling Green area in 2010. I was hired at South Warren Middle and taught there from its opening in 2010 until 2015.
In 2015, I moved to Drakes Creek Middle School, where I taught 7th and 8th grade language arts and writing for 5 years.
Now, I have joined the Bulldog team at Rich Pond Elementary where I am the school counselor.
