Hi! I am Amanda Turner, and I’m the Reading Intervention teacher at Natcher.

I have been an elementary teacher for twelve years, and have taught fourth, fifth, and second grades. I received my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from WKU in 2004, and my Master’s in School Counseling in 2010. My very favorite subject to teach is Reading!

RTI provides students with high-quality instruction and interventions matched to the student’s specific needs. In Reading RTI, I use Orton-Gillingham and Leveled Literacy Intervention. In thirty-minute groups, students work on phonics, fluency, and comprehension. Students are assessed over these areas every few days. I also use the STAR Reading assessment to measure progress each month.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns that you have throughout this year. I would be glad to discuss your child’s progress with you. amanda.turner@warren.kyschools.us
