Leader in Me

The Leader in Me is a leadership development program for all students based on Dr. Steven Covey's book 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.  Cumberland Trace teachers, students, and staff implement the Leader in Me program everyday at our school.  The 7 Habits we implement are:

  1. Be Proactive
  2. Begin with the End in Mind
  3. Put First Things First
  4. Think Win - Win
  5. Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood
  6. Synergize
  7. Sharpen the Saw

For a definition of each habit, visit the Leader in Me website.

Principal's Monthly Message

March 2023

March is a big month for us at Cumberland Trace. On Tuesday, March 14 our school will be getting evaluated to receive recertification in being a Leader in Me Lighthouse school. Both our students and staff have worked very hard to prepare for this day. Here are just a few of the exciting things happening at CTE this month:

  • Several of our 4th-6th Grade Beta students will be competing in the Leadership Summit in Gatlinburg, TN on March 9-10.

  • Our Quarter 3 PBIS Reward will be on March 14- This is to celebrate students that have showcased positive behaviors for the entire third quarter

  • Our 5th/6th grade students will be taking a trip to Washington D.C. March 22-24

  • On March 29, we will be hosting our very first Family Mental Health night. We are excited to share this opportunity with our families.

  • CTE will be presenting our very FIRST musical of Frozen Jr. on March 31 at The Capitol

As always, be sure to check out our Tiger Tales every Friday. This is the best way to stay up to date with things happening inside and outside of our school. Thank you for being an active participant in your child’s education. If you ever have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.
