Message from Principal Stunson on COVID-19 School Closure

Bristow Community,

Wow, what can I say?  The past two days have been a whirlwind, but I can truly say we have the best staff around.  Our teachers and staff came together to help ensure that your child's learning will continue over this unexpected break. To say I am proud of our students, staff and community would simply be an understatement.

I wanted to reach out to you to share some school-specific information for Bristow.  As you know, we are in uncharted waters not only as a school and community, but as a state and nation as well. We have worked cohesively to develop the best plan to ensure the safety of your children and families.  This afternoon, WCPS sent out the following information via email and social media:

Please follow the link to view WCPS closing information: and the following YouTube video:

This information covers many of the details and questions that families, employees, and students may be pondering.

More specifically,  Bristow the teachers have been AMAZING in preparing the best possible learning opportunities for all students in a short amount of time.  Today, your child should have come home with one or a combination of the following:

  1. A packet of work for each of their subjects and options for special areas.

  2. Digital directions to access online learning for each of their subjects and special areas.

*** If your child was absent on March 13, 2020 and you have internet access at home, please email their teachers to ask about obtaining your child’s assignments.  Please use this link to search for the emails of Bristow teachers: ***

*** If your child was absent on March 13, 2020 and you do not have internet access at home, please call the school on Monday (3/16) at 270.842.1960 to arrange to pick up hard copies of your child’s assignments. ***

*** Additionally, our staff will begin to  make contact with our families of students who were absent on March 13, 2020 to ensure every student has the opportunity and information needed to continue their learning.***

This is a new concept for everyone, so you and your student may have some questions regarding their assignments. For this reason, all teachers will be accessible via email, Remind App, or Google from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm on our regular instructional days (March 16-18 (19-20 are scheduled days off), March 23-27, and March 30 - April 3).  Our regularly scheduled Spring break will take place during its normal time of April 6-10, with students hopefully returning to face-to-face learning on April 13th.

If you have any concerns or questions that are not covered in the district information or the information above, please feel free to contact Bristow Elementary.  Also, follow us on Social Media for updates as they happen:
