Senior Night for the GHS Swim Team

College Readiness

There are several upcoming College Readiness Study Sessions available.  Please see Mrs. Daniels to sign up for one or all of the sessions.

FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for Seniors

A representative will be at GHS on January 14 and February 2 to assist families in filling out the FAFSA for college financial aid.  There will be a sign up sheet in guidance to make an appointment. You can either come to guidance to sign up or call 270-781-0914 to make an appointment.

There will be a FAFSA informational workshop on Thursday, January 8th, 2015 at 4:00pm at Daymar College.

There will also be a FAFSA presentation at Western Kentucky University on January 10 at 10:00am. The meeting will take place at Mass Media and Technology Hall, Room 166.

Message from Superintendent Clayton on Inclement Weather

Dear Parents and Families,

Any Superintendent or Transportation Director will tell you that one of his/her most difficult decisions is whether to close, delay, or open school on days of inclement weather. It is a difficult decision because it is based upon the probability of safety to transport students and staff. The process begins at 4:00 a.m. with several district personnel and weather spotters strategically located throughout the county traveling to check road conditions.

Student Drop Off and Pick Up Before and After School

Parents dropping students off in the morning and picking them up in the afternoon should only be doing so in the back parking lot behind Greenwood.  The only students that may be dropped off or picked up in the front are special needs students and any student that has an injury and has an administrator’s prior permission.  Having parents dropping in the front of the building creates a safety hazard for our students.  Thank you for your cooperation on this matter.
