  Make sure to scroll down to see what we are doing daily in class.  Below you will find a description of what we did in class, links to sites and assignments, due dates, and much more.

Monday 4/16

Groups will research one land acquisition by the United States between the years 1803-1854.  


Students will create a skit that accurately teaches the class about the land acquisition.  Students will

demonstrate understanding of how the United States acquired land: “Bought It - Fought It - Took It.”  


Students must include:

1. The year the land was acquired.

2. Which is correct about how the land was acquired: “Bought It - Fought It - Took It.”

3. The country the land was acquired from.

4. Any other important information about the land acquisition.

Tuesday 4/17

Students will perform skits.  Other students will take notes over skits for the most important info.  

When finished we will watch Crash Course: War and Expansion.

Wednesday 4/18

Students will read and take notes over what they read to create a digital children’s storybook or song about groups (49ers, Mormons, Chinese Americans, Railroad Owners) going West.  Students also need to include Manifest Destiny, Lewis and Clark, and the Louisiana Purchase.

Thursday 4/19

Students will create storybooks about groups going west.
