Family Resource and Youth Service Centers (FRYSCs)
These centers were developed under the Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA) of 1990 in order to help establish a link between families and the community that will help in removing all non-academic barriers to learning. The Family Resource Center at Plano Elementary is dedicated to strengthening the community and families through information and referral services, collaborative program planing, encouraging volunteerism. and youth asset building.
FRYSC Vision Statement: The Kentucky Division of Family Resource and Youth Services Centers in the Cabinet for Health and Family Services shall establish the national standard of excellence in the provision of school-based family support.
FRYSC Mission Statement: To enhance students' ability to succeed in school by developing and sustaining partnerships that promote: 1. Early learning and successful transition to school; 2. Academic achievement and well-being; and 3. Graduation and transition into adult life.
