Red Ribbon Week October 22nd-26th

Red Ribbon Week is an alcohol, tobacco, and drug/violence prevention awareness campaign observed annually in October in the United States. It’s a great opportunity for us as a student body to take a stand against drugs, alcohol and tobacco! Here is a look at some of the things we have planned for the week!

Show Good Character

Dress like your favorite meme, book or movie character

Must be appropriate, and a legitimate character. Hats are okay.. No masks or scary characters.

TUESDAY

Put Drugs to Sleep

Pajama Day

Remember dress code. Slippers are okay.

WEDNESDAY

Mathletes and Athletes (We all take a stand against drugs)

Sports Attire / Suspenders, Bowtie, Glasses

Dress code applies. Hats are okay if part of the overall theme.

THURSDAY

Throwback Thursday (Drug Free through the generations)

Dress from a past decade or generations

Dress code applies. Hats are okay if part of the overall theme.

FRIDAY

We Wear Red for Lives Lost to Drugs and Alcohol

Dress in RED (red out)

Dress code applies. Just wear red!

 

October 25th Join us at the 2018 Realtors Hope for the Homeless GLOW RUN!

It will be held at Kereiakes Park. Registration is at 4:30pm with the Run/Walk beginning at 6:30pm. It’s a great opportunity to make a healthy lifestyle choice. Plus, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Youth Service Center! Be sure to specify that you are a South Warren Middle School Spartan when registering for the run!

GUEST SPEAKER

We will conclude Red Ribbon Week with a presentation from Jerod Thomas

on October 26th. Mr. Thomas is a former football player who shares his testimony of overcoming drug/alcohol addiction.
