This is a great resource for students in need of extra academic help. Students can be paired with volunteers who will assist in comprehension of the academic content. Students will be given supplies to become more organized. They will be encouraged to set goals and will also be shown simple organization techniques that will assist in maintaining assignments. Please click on the Tutoring tab on the left of this page for more details.
We need you! Anyone interested in volunteering at South Warren Middle School will need to complete a background check and attend a volunteer training. Please see Mrs. Powell in the Youth Service Center for more information on becoming involved at South Warren Middle School.
Anti Smoking, Drugs, and Alcohol
SWMS Youth Service Center sponsors Red Ribbon week each October. This week brings awareness to the negative affects of drugs and alcohol. Students are given information during the week and special events are scheduled. Students are also invited to participate in community sponsored events that bring awareness to the negative effects of smoking, drugs and alcohol.
Career Exploration and Development:
The Youth Service Center provides guest speakers from the community to offer workshops and presentations for SWMS students. This service is designed to educate students on careers and the education requirements needed to obtain these careers.
