Whether it be an opportunity to create a Haunt Attraction, eerie monsters strolling around, or thrilling rides, King’s Island was an all-around interesting field trip. It was the Fall Marketing Day so the students gained knowledge behind marketing and advertising with King’s Island. Target market, partnerships, media, product set-up, and events are just a few things that the marketing team introduced to over five high school groups. There was then an opportunity for creativity to shine when the students were asked to create a Haunt Attraction: a logo, brief overview, channels of marketing, target market, and more.
Despite the overwhelming desire to experience the thrill rides in the amusement park, a group from Greenwood won the challenge and received free fast passes. The fun didn’t stop there; a behind the scenes tour through the Haunt makeup and mazes ended the educational component of the day. As soon as they were able, the students took off to explore the amusement park rides and experience the scare first hand. King’s Island did not disappoint seeing as the FBLA members were fearful the entire night amidst the foggy and dim park. Overall, the day was an extreme, spooky success with the students sound asleep on the late bus ride home. By Izzy Hunt (FBLA VP of Community Relations)
