On September 27th The WEHS Air Force JROTC participated in the 'Adopt-a-Highway' project. They had 33 cadets each earn 3 hours of community service each. The JROTC adopted a two-mile stretch of Louisville Road in front of Warren East High School. This is an excellent opportunity for our students to give back to the community and participate in helping prevent pollution and littering that can harm our community and environment.

The Warren Central High School Athletic Hall of Fame will add four members this year. 
LEGO Robotics competition scheduled for Feb. 23
Western Kentucky University Engineering faculty and  staff, with support from the Tau Beta Pi student Engineering Honors Society,  will conduct the 13th annual Kentucky Bluegrass LEGO Robotics Competition on  February 23 at Drakes Creek Middle School.

For the 2013 competition, elementary and middle school teams must build  autonomous robots from LEGO Mindstorm kits to navigate a curving track and a straight track as quickly  and accurately as possible.

Teams will compete in either the “Engineer-in-Training” division for  Elementary School teams, or the “Professional Engineers” division for Middle  School and more experienced teams.

Recycling meets fashion at South Warren Middle
The Fashion Design class at South Warren Middle School put on a fashion show designed completely out of recycled materials.  Students in Lindsey Hardcastle's Fashion Design class collected a number of recycled goods throughout the semester and  used those materials to make clothing. Students used the Tape Sculptures designed by the art class and used a variety of techniques and materials to create clothing for their tape sculpture model. When the students completed this project, Mrs. Hardcastle held a fashion show where teachers judged the designs. The first place design came from Group 1 (Joy Fan, Megan Gilliam, Alexis Cherry and Katie Suttle). Second place went to Kami Whitehouse, Yesenia Hernandez and Ashlyn Rice.
