Beth Schaeffer, District Preschool Instructional Consultant for Warren County Public Schools, has been selected to receive the Early Childhood Outstanding Service Award from the Kentucky Division for Early Childhood. The award will be presented at the annual Kentucky Exceptional Children’s Conference to be held November 24-26, 2013 at the Galt House in Louisville, KY.
To be nominated for this award, the nominee must be a parent, community member, or professional in early intervention/early childhood or a related field who has made significant contributions at the local level to benefit young children with disabilities and their families. Contributions may be in the areas of direct service to children and families, leadership/administrative roles, policy development/implementation, family/professional education, or research.
Schaeffer has been employed by WCPS since 1998, working as a preschool teacher or Early Reading First Coach at Cumberland Trace Elementary before moving into the consultant role. She has been recognized before for her exemplary work in early childhood education. She earned the Family Involvement Award from the Kentucky Association for Early Childhood Education in 2003.
Schaeffer earned her bachelor's and master's degrees at Western Kentucky University.
