The Warren County Board of Education will hold a public hearing in the Board Room at Central Office on Tuesday September 12, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. to hear public comments regarding a proposed general fund tax levy of 44.9 cents on real property and 44.9 cents on personal property.
The General fund tax levied in fiscal year 2017 was 44.0 cents on real property and 44.0 cents on personal property and produced revenue of $32,170,800.57. The pro- posed General Fund tax rate of 44.9 cents on real property and 44.9 cents on personal property is expected to produce $35,337,288.82.Ofthisamount$4,840,890.82 is from new and personal property. The compensating tax rate for 2018 is 43.2 cents on real property and 44.0 cents on personal property and is expected to produce $34,065,953.30.
The general areas to which revenue of $3,166,488 above 2017 revenue is to be allocated are as follows: Cost of collections, $63,328; building fund, $320,230; instruction, $2,087,138 ; transportation, $256,542; and maintenance of plant, $439,250.
