Welcome to Warren East High School and an exciting 2018-19 school year where, the teachers and leadership continue to ensure learning is taking place in every classroom with every student, and building relationships with your students will be on the top of our list!!
First of all WE would like to welcome Mr. Jonathan Vaughn to Warren East as our new Dean of Students. Mr. Vaughn comes to us from a social studies classroom in a neighboring district and WE are looking forward to having him on board this year. Mr. Young, Mr. Vincent (now the new assistant principal), Mr. Vaughn and I are so very excited about being your leaders this year, as WE embrace the WE Do attitude! I look forward to working, not only with the students, parents and teachers currently involved at Warren East, but also those who are members of our community and our feeder schools. I hope WE can all embrace being or becoming a Raider no matter how old or how young.
WE are looking forward to a year filled with opportunities for all students to learn and grow with the goal of becoming someone they can be proud to be. It is our goal to help all students become transition ready. WE will continue our partnership with the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce and local businesses. We look forward to continuing to offer new opportunities for students to do job shadowing and possible internships with the sectors of business where jobs/careers are readily available for them after they graduate. WE continue to offer Advanced Placement classes, as well as an extensive list of Dual Credit classes through SKYCTC, WKU and Murray State University. WE continue to work with the Area Technology Center to offer an Engineering and Robotics pathway for Warren East students, as well as several other pathways the students love, including, but not limited to welding, auto mechanics and construction! These offerings are in addition to the other pathways to transition readiness at Warren East; offerings like those in agriculture, business and family consumer science. I have all the confidence in the world our teachers are up for any challenge brought their way and WE will all be working together for the benefit of our students.
I continue to encourage everyone to get involved with some aspect of Warren East High School! This could happen by: students joining clubs and getting involved in extra-curricular activities; parents getting involved as volunteers or supporting your child(ren) as they play sports or take part in the spring musical, art exhibit or academic team match; community members hearing my plea that you become enthusiastic fans of Warren East in every way possible. I invite alumni to come for a visit, have lunch with us, or attend an athletic event and cheer as part of the Warren East family, because YOU ARE!
The leadership team and I love Warren East! I hope that love will continue to spill over into this community and will catch on fire to lead us to be the loudest and the proudest school in Warren County!
Please check out our website, follow us on Twitter and keep up to date with all that is going on at WEHS!
Last, but certainly not least, please do not ever hesitate to call, email or stop by if there is an issue with your student! WE know they are the most important thing to you and they are just as important to us! WE appreciate you allowing us to be a part of their lives and we want you to know we take that privilege very seriously!
Let's make it a great year at Warren East!!!
