The Warren County Public Schools Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration, sponsored by the WCPS Equity Council, is scheduled for Saturday, January 19th at 4:00 p.m. in the Warren Central High School Auditorium. The theme for the celebration is “Let Your Voice Be Heard.” Students will lead the ceremony honoring Dr. King while guests enjoy musical performances by the WCPS Middle School Mass Choir and the BGISD acapella Choir. An art contest was held for all WCPS students, and the winning works of art will be displayed at the celebration. Likewise, an essay contest was held for WCPS middle and high school students, and the district winners will read their essays during the celebration.
“The MLK Celebration is an opportunity for our students to celebrate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Junior," says Skip Cleavinger, Director of English Learner Programs for WCPS and President of the WCPS Equity council. “These students will become our community leaders, and it is an honor for Warren County Schools to be a part of this positive change as we help educate and mold young minds by celebrating the legacy of Dr. King.”
