Our School Based Decision Making (SBDM) Council is made up of three teachers, two parent representatives, and the principal. The council meets every other month. You can learn more about the SBDM council HERE.
Each school SBDM council whose current enrollment has eight percent (8%) or more minority students enrolled, are required to have at least one (1) minority member. SBDM regulation cites that “minority” means American Indian; Alaskan native; African-American; Hispanic, including persons of Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, and Central or South American origin; Pacific Islander; or any other ethnic group underrepresented in the school.
Our current SBDM minority parent representative who was previously elected cannot fulfill the duty this year due to a career change. Therefore, we will be holding a special election to replace this minority parent representation.
Nominations to replace this SBDM Council member will be accepted through Friday, Dec. 8 at 12:00 p.m. Nominations can be emailed to the school principal, Stephanie Martin, at firstname.lastname@example.org. All nominees must have a child who attends JRES and fit within the SBDM definition of a minority. If you plan to nominate someone else, please be sure to communicate with that person to be sure he/she fits the minority requirements and is willing to serve in this role, should he/she be elected.

This special election will take place in the school’s front office on Wed. Dec. 13 during the following hours: 9:00-4:30 p.m.
