Richardsville's Vision Statement:

Richardsville Elementary will be a "home away from home" where the students, staff and community are welcomed into a positive and safe learning environment.  We will be a school where the whole child is developed through high expectations and and nurturing relationships.  Our students will have 21st Century skills that allow them to envision their future, develop a plan and persevere to achieve their goals.

Happy New Year!! Welcome to 2018!!

It is so hard to believe we have (almost) made it to the second half of the 2017-18 school year.  Students and teachers have worked extremely hard to take positive steps in their learning journey.  Please remember you can assist us in this endeavor by just a few taking a few small steps in helping our students be successful.  Below are some ways to help your child be their B.E.S.T:

  • Be engaged – spend a few minutes each day inquiring about what was learned at school.  Simple questions like, “What was your favorite part of your day?” can produce meaningful conversation.
  • Read, read, read… - research tells us the most significant learning activity a child can do at home after school is to consistently read for 20 minutes per day.  For younger children, parents are encouraged to read to their children and, as they get older, the reading load can be shared where eventually the child becomes the one that reads aloud back to the parents.  If parents model an interest in reading, there is a better chance the child will develop an interest as well.
  • Be an active participant – there are many volunteering opportunities as Richardsville Elementary.  You can serve as little or as often as you would like.  See Ms. Casey Campbell for volunteering details.
  • Sleep – believe or not, our students do a significant amount of growing while they sleep.  Please ensure, along with a proper well-balanced diet, that your child getting at least 8 to 10 hours of sleep each night.

Finally, if you have not stepped in the building lately there have been some significant aesthetic changes happening here at Richardsville Elementary.  Not to give too much away but it may have something to do with our One School, One Book initiative with E.B. White’s, Charlotte’s Web.  Along with our new murals, the school has a more inviting appeal that students seem to enjoy.

Again, thank you for entrusting us with the privilege of caring and educating your child; there is not another job more significant or rewarding.  If you have questions, concerns, or ideas on how we can improve as a school, I encourage you to contact me at brian.womack@warren.kyschools.us or call 270-777-3232.  I would love the opportunity to talk with you.

Respectfully,

Principal Brian Womack
